Special Interests: Genetics of host plant resistance to nematodes, diseases, and insects, especially in field and vegetable crops including cowpea and other grain legumes; genomics and genetic improvement of cowpea, marker development and application to breeding; integrated pest management, and international agriculture.
Position: Professor of Nematology and Nematologist in the Agricultural Experiment Station, University of California , Riverside , CA , USA.
Currently Principal Investigator of a Bean/Cowpea Collaborative Research Support Program (CRSP) Project on genetic improvement of cowpea, partnered with scientists in West African countries of Burkina Faso , Cameroon and Senegal .
